April Showers Brings May Flowers at Mountain Valley Farms!

We all know the saying, “April Showers Bring May Flowers” and that is the theme of today’s post today! Here at Mountain Valley Farms the blooming of our plants and flowers are at their peak. With our last few weeks of May and soon to be summer weather approaching, we had to share with you what is in bloom now because it’s not to late to get your landscape or garden in shape!

Currently blooming here at the farm:

  • Dianthus ‘Fire Witch’: Long flowering ‘Fire Witch’ with ice blue foliage forms a tidy groundcover that stays evergreen.

  • Gaura ‘Siskiyou Pink’: Bright pink, 4-petaled flowers. As the flowers age, they turn a deeper, rosier pink.

  • Verbena Homestead Purple: Offers evergreen foliage and several months of bright purple blooms.

  • Blue Moon woodland phlox: Outstanding flower color with full 5-flower petals.

  • Stella De Ora Daylily: Daylilies are herbaceous, clump forming, perennials.

  • Variegated Iris: This blue iris plant has a unique foliage of white and green with a bright blue flower.

Ice Plant

  • Ice plant: Fleshy leaves are triangular in cross sections and can have red, orange, or purple edges.

  • Veronica GA Blue: It grows to about 9 inches high and a foot wide. It is a vigorous and easy-to-grow.
